Goodbye Dorset
Hi folks, sorry, I've been a bit quiet for a few days - Mr. T is amazed!!
Weather yesterday was appalling - it rained all day, but you do what you have to do and don the wet weather gear and just get out and about, which we did, but mostly by car. Dropped into Cerne Abbas and saw "The Giant" (made by a turf-cut outline filled with chalk, it depicts a large, naked man, typically described as a giant, wielding a club. The figure is listed as a scheduled monument in the United Kingdom and the site where he stands is owned by the National Trust.) and you'll have to look it up yourself, if interested, as my link thing won't work?!! The village of Cerne Abbas was lovely, we had a cream tea at Abbotts and I took many very damp views. some very wet people with very wet dogs; beautiful wet gardens, and ended up with a very wet camera.
Today, we are going home and it is a beautiful morning. This is Chesil Beach here looking stunning in the sunshine from the top of Portland as we were leaving. The weather deteriorated the further north we came and most of our journey home was in heavy spray with limited visibility on the M5/M6/M54.A41!!.
Never mind, home now and we've had a lovely few days.
ps: the view I was telling you about on Monday was courtesy of a very lovely lady and blipper of renown, one sk, and if anyone would care to take a glimpse of the one and only Dorset picture I have managed thus far to put on my blipfolio, you will see a very special little dog's view!! so unbelievably stunning, thanks so much for sharing it with me and Mr. T, sk and for your hospitality, it was lovely to meet and spend time with you.
