Thorpe Cloud and Bunster Hill

We visited Ilam Park today with the intention of walking to Dovedale for the stepping stones on the river Dove. 

We did start the walk, it was only 1.5 miles after all. But it was surprisingly hot, especially for Jak. Not only that but it was school holidays, a beautiful day and a weekend. The place was heaving with people. There was no chance we could get any great photos. So we turned back.  

We still had a lovely day and the views across the park to the hills were gorgeous. We will return to this wonderful area out of holiday season. Tomorrow we move on to York.
