A lovely warm day again, but a lot more clouds, but some great sunny spells too. A breeze now and again, mostly calm.
Up fairly early for a Sunday. Some chores around the house, and then out walkies with Sammy. Picked up friend Julie, and we headed to the Sunday Teas and plant sale at Skeld Hall. A fine sunny evening, and Julie came over for a barbecue. It clouded over, but didn't put us off. I fell asleep on the sofa this evening, woops. A local conversation topic today has been about the amount of flies suddenly appeared by the thousands. They're known locally as Orkney flies, as Orkney ship their waste here to Shetland for dumping.
After the Teas, we took the dogs for a costal walk along the cliffs and rocky beaches. There was a couple of other folk out for a walk here today too. I don't know if it's a forgotten part of Shetland, or just not well known, but the scenery is stunning. One sea stack (far left) is named Ernes Stack, which must have had sea eagles nesting on it over 100 years ago. Taken above Estieness Geo, Silwick.
