The Victorian set at Rolvenden

A full on day on a learning turn at Rolvenden signalbox. Here the Victorian set with Swiftsure in charge enters the loop with an up train to take on water whilst waiting for the A set departure from Tenterden to cross on the mainline to the right.

A very busy timetable with 5 service trains and the Sunday lunch Pullman all operated by steam locomotives together with moves in and out of the loco yard and the carriage shed sidings. It’s the service I will be operating when on my passing out turn at Rolvenden signal box.

Today was also the last day of service on for 257 Squadron the KESR so it was only fitting that the extra shows the loco entering the yard and the end of its last trip as light engine from Tenterden.

It’s been a popular loco, people have travelled some distances to see and ride behind the loco. Time will tell if it raised enough revenue to justify the additional costs it incurred. I’ve enjoyed seeing it here, working with it and I hope we will see it back again in the future.

An early start, full on day and late Finnish meant no time for visiting journals today. However, thank you for all your comments about the litter picking blip from yesterday
