GREEN

No charred black trees here.  After yesterday’s fire blip, I needed beautiful.  thanks for all the concern…H says he didn’t dream about fire.   But of course we have all again revisited the fire fighting question on a small island like this…I think we’ve made zero progress in 33 years.   Except with community.   Most all of us that escape to islands do it for the solitude, peace and quiet in nature, but of course the connections are instantly there when needed.  Big proof of that Friday night.  Very grateful.

Yesterday we did no work.  (no water) Today H finished cleaning all the decks and I washed the windows and doors in the cabin I could reach with 2 feet on the floor.   that's enough.

This lovely huge patch of green is the property next door, this is only part of it.….when we sold it to the neighbor on the other side it was full of downed trees and brush,, you couldn’t even walk around.   I love walking there now…we haven’t seen them since we’ve been here…He’ll cut it soon and it’ll turn brown soon enough.  (do wish they’d thrown in some wildflowers… originally they talked about fruit trees....))
