Concert
The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall was the site of the remarkable concert Kendall and I enjoyed today. This historic building was constructed in 1927 by the Chicago architecture firm of Rapp and Rapp, who also built the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. Originally called the Portland Theatre, at the time of its construction it cost $1.5 million – a huge amount by the time it was finished in 1928. It's a short bus ride from my home, and what a pleasure to have such a wonderful venue nearby. The performances were excellent.
