Union Canal, dusk

It's been a bleak day again today - a little rain, featureless skies, flat light. It often seeps into my mood too, and no matter where I look I cannot get my 'photo-head' on. I did take several pictures at lunchtime, but without any spark of inspiration, and predictably they were all fit for the bin. After work I nodded off on the bus home, and after eating I went out round the village to see if the evening cleared. Often evening is the best time of day - no matter how dull the day has been the light changes and suddenly the world has depth and dimension again. The canal always looks very dreamy and seductive in this light - it only lasts a few short moments, but those moments makes all the dull day forgotten.
