Geraniums

A quick pic of the geraniums in the garden at lunch time in case no other subjects revealed themselves to me later on in the day.

Also a call for help from my Mother-in-law at lunchtime. Could I go and pick Father-in-law up after work and give him a lift to her house for a few days.
He has developed shingles over the last week or so and is now very poorly. Part of his head has swollen up and is covered in scabs causing his eye to swell shut and meaning his other eye which doen't work very well anyway is the only one he can use.

I had phoned him last night to check he was alright and he said he was fine but it now appears he wasn't and today he has struggled to do anything.
So after walking Bailey again along at one of my favourite spot at Silverknowes foreshore after work I drove along to pick him up.

It was a bit of a shock seeing him and I felt so sorry for him. He's eaten nothing all day except a choccy bikkie as he hasn't been able to see to make anything else. He managed to pack some stuff of sorts but has felt so tired all he wanted to do is lie on the sofa.

There is nothing of him anyway and he is so slight and frail normally but is now exceptionally skinny to the point that as we were slowly shuffling our way down the path to the car his trousers fell down in the street. It comes to something when you have to crouch down in front of your father-in-law to pull up his breeks and fasten his belt for him in front of anyone who wants to see as he can't manage himself :)

Deposited him at Mother-in-law's. They have a interesting relationship as aren't together anymore but still see each other every week and she still does his washing and cooks some meals for him and he sees that she is ok financially.
Anyway I made sure he had had his medication and had his eye cream rubbed in and then he asked for a sandwich (must be starving poor man) and then promptly fell asleep.

I hope he will be ok. I've never experienced shingles before. I know it can be very painful and is very contagious so hope she or OH or indeed I don't catch it too.

Lets hope now he is getting looked after he makes a speedy recovery.
