Todmorden Astronomy Centre
The Astronomy Centre is high up on the moors of the Southern Pennines, on the road to Bacup, near the border between Yorkshire and Lancashire. At an elevation of about 1112ft (339m), the main observatory is situated on a level plateau surrounded by a ring of low hills which offer protection against light pollution from nearby towns.
The Centre provides opportunities for its members, schools, local community groups and the general public to come along and do some stargazing. The current clear skies will, I'm sure, be putting a smile on the face of the members.
