Tick tock....telling the time

This clock is in the formal dining room in Wimpole Hall. I spent 2 hours on duty there this morning. The clock chimes different sounds at different times...a strong chime or a gentle tingly sound. So lovely to hear.

I was lucky to have 2 of the biggest and most beautiful rooms to look after today. It was a quiet day, not a lot of visitors. But interesting groups...a group from The Netherlands visiting England for the day, a delightful family from somewhere in the Far East. Only one young woman spoke English so there was a lot of waiting while everything was translated for Grandma! All appreciated being told stories and details about the rooms.
