Inside Looking out. June 6th 2023
I always think of my dad especially today. It marks the beginning of the D-Day landings in France 1944. He went across from Portsmouth, landing on Sword Beach at Ouistreham, a young man of 26 years old.
Matt and I had always talked about going to the landing beaches.
So in September Stephen and I are going to France, taking the car on Brittany Ferries to Caen, the nearest port.
We’ll be based in Bayeux. I want to visit the Peace Museum in Caen, and the beach where dad landed. The rest of the time we’ll just be able to enjoy exploring what the area has to offer, and see the famous Bayeux tapestry.
We have had lots of lovely family holidays in various parts of France, sharing the driving on the longer trips.
Today it is dull and chilly outside at the moment.
I’ve loaded the trail camera videos taken last night. I’ll leave a link it you are interested. Harry Hedgehog, (named by Blipper MumOf4Wildlings), was evidently thirsty last night!
