Boys will be boys

My hiking partner VD (age 68) had to gently poke this rat snake to be sure it was alive.  I had no doubt.  We hiked 5 miles through the thick forest with some challenging hills.  I slept like a baby last night.  :) 

Of note: Hinckley Lake is still full of water, although it's to be emptied at some point to rebuild the dam.  Stream regeneration done near Worden Ledges Loop.  Several rolling hills with horse farms surround Hinckley Reservation.   And a new to me army expression:  "just wag it " meaning just give a wild-a_ _ guess".  That's what I should have told him about the snake...
