Treecreeper parents

It certainly felt chilly in Thorpe Wood just before 6 o'clock this morning, but the birds were singing and after recording the breeding bird transect I was delighted to spend some time with the Treecreeper family, who were busy feeding their offspring, responding to their incessant high-pitched calls.

The Bluebells are now nearly over but the rides are edged with foaming Cow Parsley and locally there are white carpets of Ramsons. Other flowers spotted included the stately purple spikes of Bugle and the last of the Goldilocks Buttercup.

In the afternoon I spent some time creating cyanotype prints, in readiness for a secret project that Kathryn Parsons and I have been asked to complete.
