New Growth

Can you guess? ... Okay, time's up: tender soft fuzzy sprouts on the trunk of the male kiwi. They feel like antlers. The winds have been blowing so hard that many many of the older long graceful branches have snapped off, including some with valuable flowers. The new growth won't help this year's crop, but hopefully provide some infrastructure for next season.
