2m SSB

Walked up Allermuir this evening to join in the 2m SSB event.  I took my wee tent as a shelter as the sun was shining but the breeze had a chilly edge.  I took an antenna for HF too, but I was later getting out the house than I originally planned so I never bothered putting it up.

Only made 9 contacts before the sun started going down and  dark and I needed to head down again.  Conditions were good and I made some contacts well down into the midlands of England.  I could also hear stations in Germany, Netherlands and Denmark but as international contacts on this band are rare there were big pileups of people waiting to work them.  My limited time and low power portable system didn't manage to break through!  Shame, would have been nice to get those in the log!
