We are sailing.

We got invited to go out for the night with our friends who have recently brought a 52 foot yacht. Weather forecast was NOT good, but it didn't come through the Sounds.
We drove over to Punga Cove, Queen Charlotte Sound from where they picked us up. We took a little trip out into the Sounds and put the small sails up. N even turned the motor off!! Both N and his wife P, have had a lot of experience on boats of all sizes, but this is the first sail boat. As P said to me when they first brought it, "I will have to work out what all the strings and white flappy things do!"
We did get one gust of wind that was 53 knots/km? (according to the thingie that records all those things)
Lovely evening catching up with some great friends...... good wine & whisky too.
