Sunrise over the Southern Alps, New Zealand

Took off at 7.30am. pilot waited a bit, one to allow fog to disperse in Sydney and two, to de-ice the plane. Uneventful flight (just as we like them) and apart from this view at the beginning, nothing to see. Please see BIG for best effect.

Easy trip down to Kiama, two train changes and short bus ride at end due to track work. Got there about 1.15pm Aussie time. Caught up with Dave then spent afternoon walking around to blowhole point and taking photos of pelicans and a rather dispirited blowhole!

This is a lovely town. The hotel looks over the sea. Tomorrow Dave's course continues so I will take my camera for a meander.
