Ribwort Plantain

I am a Brandane (born and bred on the Island of Bute) and as a child often went long country walks with my parents. We used to play a game with these where you chose a 'champion' and tried to knock the head off the others. I am still not sure whether it is better to choose a strong looking one or a young bendy one.
We played the game on the Black isle with our children and will probably play it with our grandchild in a few years time.
I saw it today on the roadside and it brought back memories.
