Preparation
We have our village fête on Saturday, and the organiser (poor stressed soul) asked for help to set up the marquees and tables. Around thirty turned up to help, I was very pleased to see, and the process of erecting marquees proceed with great good humour and patience.
The lady (in her nineties) who organised the packing and erecting of these tents was once the owner of our house, but now she has left the village and the process is now less ordered than once it was. But we managed.
The venue is an ancient farm and the tithe barn pictured here is a scheduled monument. It looks majestic here, but Mrs B, who was helping to set up the bar, complained that there was a fair amount of muck lying around. We'll probably survive.
