WARBLING WARBLER

I stopped off at the path by the reservoir this afternoon and was serenaded all the way along by chaffinches and willow warblers. I'm not sure why my camera bleached out the background on this, but I like the effect so I've kept it. I'm amazed at how abundant the hawthorn blossom still is around here - trees and hedges still absolutely laden - and it looks gorgeous with the cow parsley which is also having a brilliant year. The berries are going to be extraordinary this autumn. I hope there'll be lots of birds to eat them.

I also saw some bladder campion in flower beside the path (extra). I'm always happy to see it with it's lovely veiny markings.
