No Time To Die
We have had a visit from my great friend Sarah, from the bank.
She came with us for a meal, back in March. She is great fun and great company.
A week after she visited back in March, her mum died.
Sarah is nothing if not pragmatic. She grieved in her own way, but facing reality she just got on with it. Her, and her brother were the only surviving family members, her father having died suddenly a few years back.
Sarah lives for the tennis circuit, and is on first name terms with many global stars of the game. Nothing she doesn't know about the game of tennis, and it's long history of controversy and excellence. She was at The French Open just last week.
On returning home, she found her brother, dead on the floor.
He had had a massive stroke and been alone and deceased for two days.
Poor Sarah, how do you deal with that.
But, if you need someone strong, resilient and resourceful, Sarah is the one to go to.
She just does.
Utterly overjoyed that she came to see us, unannounced, and stayed a long while. Just talking.
She values time given freely by friends.
She has no family left. Just Sarah now.
But she is tough and resilient.
She will need to be with two lots of probate to settle. Funerals, settling estates, dealing with mortgage companies, insurance, utilities, solicitors, etc, etc, etc...
Sarah is hurting, but Sarah will be OK.
Her friends will make sure of that.
