St Swithuns
Carnival day in Sandy today. A flipping hot one too.
I’d offered to help out on the raffle stall for a couple of hours, but had to cut it short by about 15 minutes so I could get back to the car which was parked in the co-op car park with a two hour limit.
Other years I’ve been dropped off and walked home but no one around today to take me. Probably just as well as it would have been pretty horrid to walk back in this heat.
It’s held in the grounds of the old Sandye Place Middle School which closed 4 years ago. They are still deciding what to use the building for and as per usual, lots of speculation on social media. It’s not got very good access, so whatever they do some fairly substantial changes to road layout in town will be needed.
Anyway, raffle stall was really busy. They will have done well.
The school grounds border the parish church, it caught my eye on the way out as being a very English countryside summer green and sunny type blip!
