Bellflower
The garden is beginning to suffer as the drought and heat (30 degrees today) continue. The grass has gone brown and the roses are fading very quickly. My father said he couldn't grow sweet peas here because of the poor sandy soil. Undaunted I put in one row of sweet peas. Turns out he was correct. They will grow but they don't do well, stunted plants and small flowers. These Campanula bellflowers have done much better.
