A Day In The Life

Hunting Grounds

Most likely the rain is bringing out the mosquitoes and other insects because I’ve seen more dragonflies on missions than ever before. Normally they’re not abundant until July/August • In Maine we have 158 species of dragonflies, accounting for 36% of those that exist in North America • I saw this one perched on a garden stake marking the balloon flower I need to transplant. The image was so overwhelmingly green I thought it looked better in mono • In between showers I scattered a bunch of annual flower seeds I found in a tin. Who knows if anything will germinate but what a sweet surprise if any do • I also planted ornamental eggplant seeds, also known as pumpkin on a stick. They look fun and I enjoy having something new and different in the garden each summer. This year I decided not to grow cucamelons but I’m hoping someone out there in blipland is! • Happy Saturday!
