Market
What a beautiful day, probably the hottest of the year so far. We all intended to have a lie in but Cannon and I woke at 6 thanks to the crows on our roof, S had a long sleep in though which she loves. We drove to Stroud market today, I can’t quite explain how happy it makes me. The food is amazing and the whole place just has a lovely feel to it, my kind of people and ideas and things. We gathered food up for a picnic (a selection of marinated olives, sourdough, goats milk curd cheese, damson jam, Cheddar strawberries, fresh local apple juice, pastel da nata and a big falafel salad pitta to share with halloumi. We went to Stratford Park, a fantastic place with a skatepark, several playparks, an aboretum and lido. We sat on a picnic blanket in the shade of a tree and ate our food. We were done by lunch so we decided to make the most the day and drove over to the Forest of Dean in search of somewhere to go for a river dip. We went to Symonds Yat and walked down the river, it was so so hot. We liked watching all the different boats and paddle boards on the water. In the evening we stopped for a wood fired pizza in Churchdown and listened to a huge thunder storm roll in and then the rain came. My heart has been fluttering since I got home and i’m exhausted so off to bed I go.
