Hungry Cat

Black Swallowtail, Papilio polyxenes, caterpillar dining on fennel. I plant fennel expressly for the Swallowtails' consumption. A couple of BS cats are able to strip a large fennel plant in a day or two. Fortunately, for the plant and the Swallowtails,  the fennel is able to grow new leaves rather quickly. 
*just a reminder...insecticides aren't selective and will poison the wildlife including butterflies and birds in your yard and the yards of your neighbors. m
