Mankala rapids
by bike.
I was planning on a nice short ride for the evening. 14km or so. But as I felt up for we went all the way to Mankala rapids and did 32km. At 7km was the Käärijä's girlfriend hay bale (upper picture on the back ground), but at that point I felt so good that we just continued.
Mankala rapids were the most powerful rapids in Finland about 100 years ago. In 1940's they did some explosion work there to get it slow down to more or less a river. But there's still one power plant operation on the water power and the name is still as it were.
Sunny day and the warmth is increasing. By Wednesday we should be under a heatwave. I can't wait! And I hope the lakes warm up fast too.
