Ultimate Animal Experience

Grandma got CyclopsJnr an "Ultimate Animal Experience" at the Lake District Wildlife Park for Christmas, and today was the big day.

He started off with the Meerkats.  He was right inside the enclosure with them, helping feed them.  Some nibbled at his shoelaces or climbed over him.  One or two let him stroke them.  His grin was so broad it nearly split his face.

Next the Tapirs.  We weren't really sure what to expect of these, but it turns out they love to be brushed and tickled under the chin.  CyclopsJnr got on really well with this one, which even rolled over on the ground to be petted!

Finally he went in with the Ring-Tailed Lemurs, helping to feed them too.  They all crowded round and he got to stroke some of them as well as feeding them bits of carrot from his hand.

He LOVED the whole thing.

We also enjoyed watching the Bird of Prey display (with a Harris Hawk, a Tawny Owl and a Vulture!) before retreating for lunch (and some much needed shade).  After lunch we walked around and saw the other animals - including Zebras, Wildcats, Wild Boar, Tortoise and Flamingo.  We were also able to feed Alpacas, Goats, and Pigs,

It was a glorious day in the sunshine!
