Digging Deeper Into Daniel
We gathered at FBC this morning with many different needs in our church body, Some lost loved ones just this past week, some needed guidance for life situations, some needed financial provision, some needed a relationship with the God who loves them more than they could ever know and some just needed fellowship and teaching. We are grateful that we serve a God Who cares about and can meet all those needs and more. So we came together on this bright sunny morning to lift our hearts and voices in corporate praise and thanks to God. After the welcome by Pastor Wes, the choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists presented a sweet version of "It Is Well With My Soul" which was followed by more congregational singing. Then, Pastor Wes took us into a section of the book of Daniel that is rarely preached from because it is filled with prophecy, history and symbolism and most people are intimidated by it or think they already know all they need to know about it. Pastor Wes says that God inspired men to include it in the Bible, so we should not ignore it or be afraid of it, but we should learn from it about what has happened, is happening now, and what will happen in the future and how we should live as Christ-followers in our world today. Pastor Wes lays it all out much better in the Live-Stream than I can summarize it and it would be time well spent to watch it. Suffice it to say, that we, as human beings make decisions, but God is in ultimate control of the outcome, no matter what happens in the interim. On a lighter note, you may be wondering what happened to the man in the blue shirt and goofy glasses in the bottom left corner of the collage. I can only tell you that we had Sports Camp this week, we had a video about it at the end of the service and this was my favorite shot and you can ask Bro. Chris or someone who was actually there what happened....
