The morning the earth moved
A disturbed night is never a good thing, but the cause being the ground moving as a result of an estimated 5 magnitude earthquake was definitely not something anyone expected.
Millie needed cuddles, birds and other dogs were going potty, and Arnie, well he slept right through it all.
We are a fair way away from the epicenter so ours was minor but thankfully no real damage was reported.
The rest of the day was spent watching the Comrades in between going for walks, a visit from a neighbour who came to meet Millie, and chatting with Mum.
Over seventeen thousand people braced the chill of a 05:30 start in Pietermaritzburg to run 87.7km to Durban. Records were broken by the elite athletes but most were doing it to challenge themselves, beat their own personal goals, raise money for charity, that sort of thing.
Some of the clubs put together a “bus” like this one with a pace runner in front to help even the most novice of runners get to the finish line. It was great to watch.
A wee braai finished off our day.
