I am
distanced from noise and fumes,
isolated from coughs and sneezes;

the world of floods and flames
and encroaching germs
is elsewhere,
for the moment.

In Elsewhere 

politicians still bicker 
and bully
and fall out 
over what appears petty.

Here 
is as beautiful as ever.
Elsewhere
is looking far from pretty.
