50 shades of brown

That's the trouble with photographing so much cake.

This is an Allotment Cake, it's clearly based on a carrot cake but also has courgettes, walnuts and rhubarb in it. The verdict from the transient tasters is 'delish'. I put the same vanilla mascarpone icing I use on my carrot cake on the top to finish it off.

A grey and windy day mostly. Suitable weather for finally clearing out the last of my dear Pa's clothes, it's two and a half years since he died and as we are likely to be moving in a couple of weeks it was time to do it. But even after all this time I couldn't face it. George, Fran and Harriet did it for me and I made them cake.

A skip arrives tomorrow and we start tackling the garage...
