A lazy day
The low cloud (and tired legs) kept us off the mountains today. Instead we explored more of Senja. Our first stop was Gryllefjord for some supplies, then a drive over the mountain pass to the pretty fishing village of Torsken. The historic wooden church (built c1784) was interesting and had some fabulous cast iron grave markers. We finished our day with a walk along the white sands of Ballesvika and a quick stop at a small peninsula where nickel was mined in the late 1800s. The roseroot stonecrop was looking lovely flowering amongst the boulders.
