The double arch spans 55 meters with no intermediate support point

The bridge maintains a connection between the Waddenzeedijk and the Pingjumer Gouden Halsband, a medieval sleeper dike around the village of Pingjum. The bridge took second place in the competition for the 2010 National Steel Award, behind Santiago Calatrava's Samuel Beckett Bridge.
