Piel Castle

Such a hot day today.  We have visitors with us this week so this morning we climbed Gummer's How so they could see the views over Windermere.  Next we drove on to Roa Island and took the ferry across to Piel Island where there is just a short row of cottages, a pub and a 14th century castle.  Sadly the pub is closed on Mondays so we had to make do with our water bottles.
