An interesting find.

It may be apparent already that I didn’t actually take this photo. My brother has found some previously undiscovered rolls of negatives in the family archives and sent this to me today.
It’s our grandfather J.L.T. Isbi showing off his new De Dion-Bouton in his backyard in Miller St, North Sydney circa 1908. Dr James was the only doctor in North Sydney at the time as well as owning the only car (according to my father).
It’s taken us a couple of generations to lose JLT’s snappy taste in clothing and predilection for French cars.
We know he had two passionate outside interests, photography and orchids. I'm not too flash on the former but I still have a few of his orchids outside our back door!
