Starlings in the Bird Bath
At least it kept them quiet for a few minutes.
An early start with Maggie getting up earlier than usual, so Geordie and I were in the wood at Shell Bay before 9am.
It was a beautiful morning to be in the wood and the sunlight through the trees was really lovely. We saw one red squirrel pretty high up crossing the branches in the canopy. There were butterflies and bees around the wildflowers, and much more birdsong than usual. One song thrush in particular was going through its repertoire of sounds, quite a variety.
I dropped off Geordie at the house when we came back and headed down to Mitch’s to see how he was feeling ahead of his hospital appointment this afternoon. He loves to see G but he tends to have lots of his neighbours cats visiting his garden and the last thing they need is my big boy chasing them. As expected, when I arrived I was greeted at the gate by four cats all wanting attention.
We sat in the garden and fussed over the cats and chatted about how he was feeling.
Then it was home again to sit in the garden and read my book for a while.
Don and Bonnie FaceTimed in the afternoon and we blethered for a while before they headed of to the park to see the ducklings.
I’m just heading out to water the garden. It’s needing a good soaking.
