Rock wall

Many years ago, in Lennox Head, a housing development was approved right on the shore of Seven Mile Beach. Which was a big mistake.  The new houses were threatened by storm waves (and rising sea levels?). A  vast quantity of rock was used to build a protective sea-wall. And years later, a boardwalk was built over the sea-wall for pedestrian access. Have lessons been learned? I doubt it!
