Corvus cornix mortum

My mother in law once showed me a book with B&W portraits of recently deceased people. She was working with cancer patients then, and finding ways of how to handle it. She showed me those pictures in order to make me see the dignity in the moment of death in their peaceful faces.

The pictures came up in my mind today as I saw this crow lying in the grass, looking quite peaceful too.
