Burnet Companion Moth..

Why am I seeing way more moths than butterflies right now?!  Went out for another little local wander early this morning and along the creek was this little chap flittering about the grass.  Also saw a few Cinnabar moths on my walk home - so maybe the moths are out in the daytime now and the butterflies are all out at night!!

Another scorching day here in Essex - had hoped to see the Hercules fly over on it's final tour of the UK but it missed our little bit.  Although I did get a special flypast this morning on my walk, as a very expensive private jet ( I think they're about $50 million!) was doing some circuits from Southend airport and flew over my head 3 times!
