Brick, stone and sky.

Another unusually warm day here, 28 degrees at one point. We have a weed problem in the bed at the front of the house, where we planted shrubs and grasses.  We applied a bark mulch, but the weeds have come straight up through it.  So we are going to have to do what we should have done in the first place and lay down a weed proof membrane.  To do that we will have to remove all the bark, lay the membrane around the plants and then reapply the bark. So we went out early this morning to get the supplies.  Later we visited Ann and sat in her garden with coffee.  The gables in brick and stone caught my eye.
