Book Group Blip

Tonight we discussed The Teleportation Accident by Ned Beauman. What a crazy, unexpected, multilayered, genre-defying and hilarious feat of imagination! So much to talk about, remember and dissect - from the 17th century set designer to the English con man; the monkey gland transplanter and the sex-starved anti-hero; LA being bomb proof due to it's dispersed layout and HP Lovecraft conspiracy theories. It's woven together with such erudition and humour - I actually want to read it all over again.
