Voodoo Lily

I’ve been watching this plant for years. There are actually two of them, buried amongst a bunch of greenery and easy to overlook if you’re walking downtown. They don’t seem to be cared for, they’re just there on a somewhat shabby overgrown border. But once a year they unfurl these incredible purple flowers, visible for a few days and then gone. It’s supposed to have a rotten smell, but I’ve never found it. There’s another view in Extras, with two flowers.  Oh, that color!
