Evening Stroll

I decided to explore the Union Canal to the south this evening. Walking along past Slateford and over the aqueduct that carries the canal over the Water of Leith. I passed a sign saying it was 31 miles to Falkirk! The railway runs parallel to the canal along this stretch too.

There were lots of cyclists and walkers out but despite the activity plenty of peace and quiet and wildlife to see - including a mother duck and her 4 ducklings who were swimming along the canal at quite a pace! You can hopefully make them out in this picture, along with the blue sky of the beautiful sunny evening.
