Royds Mill - Oldham

There are still quite a few of these old cotton mills left, around the area where my Manchester cubilcle Office is.

They are made from Accrington brick, and look magnificent in certain lighting conditions.
Most have been pulled down, or are soon to be, as in the case of Royds Mill.
I feel its a terrible waste of remarkable architecture. Its hard to imagine the wealth of the Cotton Masters who built these places, I imagine their wealth far outstripped the like s of Bill gates..
