Walking near Fulking
Day 2 of my trip and I spent the morning retracing my steps of yesterday evening, up on the Downs near to Devils Dyke. At 9am it was around 23 degrees so I was grateful for the cooling breeze.
First I walked to the west past Truleigh Hill savouring the views out to the sparkling sea in the English Channel. Then I retraced my steps and went onward to Devils Dyke, stopping enroute to enjoy the view inland.
By lunchtime the heat was beating me so I retreated back to camp, enjoyed lunch and spent the afternoon reading in the shade.
The grass in the field next to the campground had that day been cut for hay and come the evening I was able to sit watching a kestrel hunting over the freshly cut ground. A beautiful sight in the evening sunshine.
The view here is looking down to the village of Fulking.
