Tree Memorial

This morning I visited Burrator on the western side of Dartmoor. Despite the lack of rain in recent weeks the reservoir was almost full. Beside the leat which feeds the reservoir I saw this tree stump. Bleached white by the sun it stood like a memorial to felled trees.
