LINNET, INNIT?

Our guests left mid-morning and I went into a state of exhausted torpor for a few hours until I had to drag myself out and submit myself, voluntarily, to very expensive torture at the dentist. After that I needed to get out and about for an hour or two so headed down the smelly factory road where I saw this and several other linnets, a family of stonechats (dad in the extra, calling out warnings to his mate and their offspring) and a clutch of redshank chicks, only one of which would come out into the open to be photographed with any degree of clarity (extra). And now I'm off for an early night having just listened to Glenda Jackson on R4's This Cultural Life. I was very sad to hear of her passing today.
