City of Stars...Malawi Arts Festival...

Tonight was one of those lovely evenings that just arise out of the blue...I have a colleague from Malawi, who unexpectedly invited me to attend a Launch Party to promote a new Arts festival taking place in Lilongwe, Malawi on 27th - 28th September 2013. I invited my 2 sons and their girlfriends to join me, but my sons were both working so it became a girls night. Then, completely unexpectedly, a friend from Hampshire phoned to say she was in Glasgow and was I doing anything this evening? So Viv came too... After a lovely Greek meal, we were treated to a lovely display of African music, poetry and dance ... in a trendy Glasgow club more usually frequented by my younger son than by me! The Arches is underneath Central Station and is a fascinating venue in the bowels of the city centre... the photo shows Rise Kagona, star of the Bhundu boys, with one of the Jit Jive Trio...
