White heron (Kotuku) Egretta alba modesta

Drove down to the plant nursery in Linwood today and thought I'd just drive along the canal. Got out of the car with camera, no sign of any birds except ducks, and just as I turned to go back to the car the heron flew by!

Took 3 shots and it disappeared over the bushes and that was that! Just lucky.
